Sandy Nelson has more than 30 years of experience in early learning and Head Start. From her initial position as a preschool teacher, she advanced through the program to center director, to associate director of early learning programs for a non-profit, and finally as the assistant superintendent for early learning programs at a regional educational service agency. She is currently a grantee specialist with the Region 10 Training and Technical Assistance Network, focusing on Head Start management and governance systems.

She enjoys working with grantees to support them in strategic planning, planning for five year goals, organizational design, training for boards and policy council, and other Head Start management systems.
