This session will focus on the new Child and Adult Care Food Program meal pattern that will be in effect starting October 1, 2017.  In this 3-hour session, participants will learn about the new meal pattern requirements and how to implement them within a Head Start setting.  Participants will be able to work together on guided activities, review available resources, and ask ODE CNP Child Nutrition Specialists your CACFP questions.  Participants who attend the full training will meet the CACFP annual renewal training requirement. Food Program Coordinators and Authorized Representatives for the CACFP are encouraged to sign up. Additional staff are welcome, space permitting.

I'm a child nutrition specialist on the community team at the Oregon Department of Education's Child Nutrition department. In the community team, we work with the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Summer Food Service Program. I'm also a registered dietitian who loves to work on nutrition education, particularly with child and maternal nutrition topics.
